UPDATED: Suspect arrested in connection with deadly shooting

UPDATE Springdale police officers located the suspect Friday morning and arrested him at the Applegate Apartment complex without incident at around 10:30 a.m.

Fayetteville police are searching for a suspect believed to be involved in a deadly shooting that occurred overnight in the 900 block of North Leverett Avenue.

The shooting happened at around 9 p.m. Thursday. Police said one victim is dead and another was hospitalized.

Officials are asking for the public’s help in locating Dekota Harvey in connection with the incident. He is described as a 22-year-old white man with curly brown hair who stands about 5-feet 6-inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants and a black coat, and driving a dark green Chevrolet Malibu.

The vehicle was located at around 2 a.m. Thursday, but police were still searching for Harvey after 8 a.m. Friday.

Police said Harvey is considered to be armed and dangerous, and warned the public not to approach him.
