Experience Fayetteville sets dates and themes for 2019 First Thursday events

First Thursday will return to the Fayetteville square in May for the first of six events planned on the first Thursday of each month through October.

The free, family-friendly event include an outdoor arts district with more than 40 visual artists whose work in variety of mediums is on display around the downtown square. The event also includes live music, street performances, children’s activities, food trucks, a craft beer garden and more.

For this year Experience Fayetteville, the city’s convention and visitors bureau, has set themes for each of the six events:

May 2 – On a Roll
June 6 – Summer of Love (50th anniversary of Woodstock)
July 4 – IndepenDANCE
Aug. 1 – Tailgate
Sept. 5 – Intercontinental
Oct. 3 – Space

“We’re excited about this year’s themes and look forward to enhancing the creative experience at First Thursday,” said Dacre Whitaker, Experience Fayetteville’s director of community engagement.
