Weekend Flyer: Fayetteville Jazz Fest, Waitress, Statehouse Electric, and more

Friday, April 12

The Broadway hit musical Waitress, based on the film of the same name, continues its run at the Walton Arts Center this weekend. There are a few chances to see it. Here’s our review of the show.

There’s a celebration of jazz happening on the Fayetteville square this weekend. The Fayetteville Jazz Festival is happening at the Guisinger Music House. Friday night, there’s a performance by Doug Stone Quartet. Here’s more info.

There’s a comedy show at Nomad’s. The venue will host another installment of their Southtown Comedy Night, featuring jokes by JT Habersaat and Jay Chanoine.

Music wise, it’s looking like a nice night to sit outside, eat some BBQ, and watch some tunes. For that, you could check out locals Statehouse Electric at Wright’s BBQ. Check them out here.

There’s more below. Click around for details.

Fayetteville Farmers’ Market / Staff photo

In case you missed it last week (judging by the crowd, you didn’t), the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market is back on the square. They’ll be up there doing their thing again this weekend.

Over at Terra Studios, a new mural project will be unveiled. The project, called the Better World Mural, features work by a host of local artists. Here’s more info.

Wanna race? The annual Cow Paddy Run is taking place on Saturday at Gulley Park. The event kicks off at 3 p.m. and there’s a 5K and 1K Fun Run you can participate in. The run raises funds for the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation.

There’s a rock show at Smoke & Barrel on Saturday night with Bones of the Earth and Groaners, if you feel like getting your face melted off.

There’s a lot more below. Have a great weekend, everyone.
