A six-week pump track time trial series began Thursday at the Runway Bike Park at The Jones Center in Springdale.

The series takes place each Thursday at 6 p.m. through May 23.

The event gives riders 30 minutes to log their the fastest pump track loop. Riders are timed using a Race Result timing chip system. At the end of the night, the top 10 individuals with the fastest times are awarded points. The rider with the most points at the end of the 6-week series will be awarded a $100 Visa gift card and the title of “Runway Time Trial Series Champion.” Cash prizes will be awarded to 2nd Place ($50) and 3rd Place ($25).

The entry cost per rider for each night is $5. Riders must be 16 years of age or older. Registration is available on-site at each event.

“The mountain biking and BMX community is hungry for shorter, weekday evening events,” said Jake Lane, marketing and communications manager at The Jones Center. “We’re excited to show off our world championship pump track to riders of all skill levels from across Northwest Arkansas at a central location within the region.”
