A new podcast featuring the local, regional, and national musicians coming to Fayetteville to perform at George’s Majestic Lounge has launched recently.

The podcast, called “George’s Live” is hosted by local musician and promoter Travis Smith*, and features “discussions of upcoming concerts at George’s Majestic Lounge and an overview of the NWA music ecosystem with exclusive interviews featuring local, regional and national industry leaders and talent,” according to a press release issued last week.

Smith has been involved in the Fayetteville music scene for the better part of the last two decades, both as a drummer in local bands such as Thanks For Nothing, LouDog, 2Shock, and others, and as a booking agent and promoter of shows at venues across the region with his Emerg Entertainment company.

“We want this podcast to break down the wall between artist and fan and go beyond the traditional media channels to not only inform fans about upcoming show but to also give them insight, history and stories – direct from the artists – about their craft and upcoming performances in our region,” Smith said.

The first episode of the new podcast was posted on April 12. Since then, four additional episodes ranging from 2-12 minutes in length have been posted to the feed, featuring interviews with artists such as Mr. Bill and Victor Wooten.

Smith said he plans to post at least one podcast per week every Monday.
