Weekend Flyer: Springtime of Youth, Big Smith, Hogs versus Tennessee, and more

Friday nights start with happy hour, and George’s has one with locals Full House and Upright after work Friday night. Later on, 90s tribute band The Mixtapes will perform a set of Nirvana songs.

Also in tunes, producers/DJs Krewx, ‘Trixx, and Prana will perform at Axis Lounge Friday night, there’s a three band bill at Backspace with Luxemburg Trio, Mass Mella, and William Pierce, and Smoke & Barrel has Austin jam band Koodookoo with locals, Irie Lions.

There’s a big baseball series at Baum Walker stadium this weekend. The Hogs take on Tennessee for three games beginning on Friday night. First pitch is at 6:30 p.m.

Saturdays in Fayetteville start at the Farmers’ Market.

After that, the UA has their annual spring music festival, Springtime of Youth beginning at 3 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Two-time Grammy nominee Kesha will headline this year’s event, along with rapper Pusha T and indie pop band Smallpools. Local artists Jerles and Witchsister are also on the bill. Here’s more info.

It’s the last Saturday of the month, and that means time for a variety show at American Legion. Performers this month include Justin Driggers, Jasper Logan, and Dominic Roy.

Also in tunes, Big Smith is back together, and will perform at George’s Saturday night, and Nomad’s has a three band bill with William Pierce, The Honey Collective, and Nathan Owens.

The Poor People’s Campaign’s “National Emergency: Truth and Poverty Tour” is coming to Fayetteville on Sunday, and will rally in front of the Fayetteville Town Center at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Here’s more info.
