Who’s ready for a party at the library?

Fayetteville Public Library will celebrate the beginning of their summer reading club with their annual kickoff party from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.

This year’s event will include a host of family-friendly events, featuring bounce houses, shaved ice, air brush tattoos, a photo booth, giveaways, food, face painting, and more.

“The kickoff party is our most celebrated bash of the year,” said David Johnson, executive director at Fayetteville Public Library. “We encourage everyone to come be part of this fun, family-friendly event for the community.”

The theme for this year’s event is “A Universe of Stories,” to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing.

Last year, nearly 5,000 kids, teens, and adults participated in the club, and almost 19,000 people attended one of the events associated with the summer program.
