The fourth annual Ladies DU Fayetteville duathlon is set for Sunday, June 9 at Lake Fayetteville.

The women’s-only event is open to women of all ages and is the only duathlon in the state currently dedicated to females.

The run-ride-run race includes two miles of running followed by an 11-mile bicycle ride and then another two-mile run.

The race begins at 7 a.m. in Veterans Memorial Park.

City officials are asking residents to stay off the Lake Fayetteville paved trail from 7-9 a.m. that day, as the trail will be used as the bicycle course portion of the race.

Participants have the option of competing individually or as a two-person relay team in which one woman runs and another woman bikes.

Registration is $55 for individual entries and $95 for relay entries. The fee includes a technical sleeveless top and a finisher medal. Event photo downloads will be provided after the event at no cost.

Online registration closes June 7.

Post-race festivities include massage chairs, raffle prize drawings, and healthy snacks.
