Reminder: Gulley Park Concert Series starts tonight (May 30) with Arkansauce

Pack up your picnic baskets, and dust off your dancin’ shoes, Fayetteville. It’s time for the Gulley Park Summer Concert Series.

The 23rd annual series kicks off tonight Thursday, May 30 with a performance by local bluegrass band, Arkansauce.

For those who aren’t familiar, here’s a little about the band from their website.

Arkansauce is a genre-hopping, four piece string band from northwest Arkansas, bending the rules and blurring the lines between bluegrass, newgrass, folk, americana, country, blues, and funk. With a loyal following growing every day in the Natural State and along their tour routes, the band is proud to be stepping into a hard-driving sound unique to the Arkansas quartet.

The Gulley Park concert series is organized by the city’s Parks & Recreation Department, and features free outdoor live music with plenty of room for picnic blankets and lawn chairs throughout the fields surrounding the gazebo stage at Gulley Park in east Fayetteville.

The music starts at 7 p.m., and the concerts are free and open to the public. Coolers are welcome for those who’d like to pack snacks or dinner, but food vendors are also usually set up around the park.

Other performers on the lineup this year include Devon Gilfillian, NWA Jazz, Ultra Suede, Mary Heather & The Sinners, and the Bryan Titus Trio Band.
