The Blue Man Group will be back in Fayetteville this summer.

The hybrid comedy, theatre, and music show is scheduled to perform Sept. 12-18 at the Walton Arts Center.

The string of Fayetteville shows will kick off the group’s new tour, Speechless, which will continue on to include more than 50 cities across North America.

Tour officials said Speechless will feature new, transformative Blue Man Group experience with original compositions, acts, and instruments alongside iconic Blue Man Group moments based in joy, art, music, comedy, social commentary, and profound absurdity.

New director Jenny Koons, who specializes in dissolving spatial boundaries, has a diverse background in theater and activism. She comes to Blue Man Group having recently completed productions of Between Us: The Deck of Cards, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, and Burn All Night.

Koons was an artist in residence at Philadelphia School of Circus Arts, SPACE on Ryder Farm, and The Invisible Dog Art Center. She was the 2017 curator of New York City Center’s Encores! Off-Center Lobby Project, co-curator of the 2016 Toronto ThisGen Conference, and co-founder of Artists 4 Change NYC (National Black Theatre).

“I’m thrilled to join the Blue Man Group family to undertake this new show,” said Koons. “Speechless will feature material that fosters communal moments, debut the evolution of our tube-based instruments to support all new music, and include large-scale audience participation. It is my hope that this show will deliver on its name and continue Blue Man Group’s legacy to transcend words and inspire audiences through non-verbal connections.”

Tickets are available now as part of the Broadway season subscription package or via group sales for Walton Arts Center. Subscriptions can be renewed or purchased online at waltonartscenter.org or by calling the subscriber concierge at 479-571-2785. Single tickets will go on sale in August.
