A host of local musicians will perform in Fayetteville this weekend at a benefit to help raise money for one of their own.

James Robert Lewis, otherwise known as Smilin’ Bob of Ben Miller Band, Tyrannosaurus Chicken, and other bands, has been diagnosed with cancer, and some of the most talented musicians in the area will perform at a benefit called “Songwriters for Smilin’ Bob” on Sunday, June 9 at Smoke & Barrel Tavern.

The event will include performances by Randall Shreve, Jesse Dean, Ben Miller, Dana Louise, Noah Richmond, Rachel Ammons, Jeff Kearney, Jamie Lou, Adam Cox, Mark Bilyeu, Shannon Wurst, and (potentially) others.

Donations will be accepted at the door. Proceeds from the event will go to Lewis to help he and his family with the costs of treatment.

For those who can’t attend, but would like to contribute, a GoFundMe has also been established.
