City crews will begin work on sidewalk improvements at the intersection of North Gregg Avenue and East Township Street on Monday, June 24.

The project includes building new sections of sidewalk to connect with existing ones. New access ramps will be installed at the intersection’s northeast and southeast corners. The existing curb radii will be modified to improve pedestrian safety. New curb and gutter on Township Street will be installed as part of the work to improve stormwater drainage.

The project will require closing the outer northbound lane of Gregg Avenue (south of the Township Street intersection). Traffic lanes on Township Street will be narrowed. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic, according to a news release.

The work will take place on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., but an occasional Saturday or extended hours during the week may be necessary. The street will be reopened to thru traffic at nights and on weekends.

The project is estimated to take four weeks to complete. Extended periods of rain could extend the construction time.
