The new event created by Cattywampus Co-op founder Chad Maupin, featuring work by some of the region’s best illustrators, is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29 at Hilton Garden Inn.

The event, titled ‘Death Ray,’ will feature more than three dozen illustrators from Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding region, including Marvel Comics’ Aaron Kuder and John Lucas, along with indie artists Michael Sweater and Benji Nate.

The event will also include panel discussions, a retro video game arcade by Arcadia Retrocade, an escape room by Escape Room 13, a board game area, and a live All Star Dungeons and Dragons game.

Live panels at the event will be hosted by the hosts of the podcast “Look What I Did” and feature topics such as “The Art of Storytelling” and the “Business of Art” as well as a Q&A with artist John Lucas.

In addition, there will be live printing demonstrations, computer animation tutorials, portfolio reviews and a Make Your Own Comic area for kids.

Couple package ticket discounts are available as well as an Excelsior ticket that gets you entrance to an exclusive Drink and Draw kickoff party Friday June 28, an event tee, comic and more.

Tickets range from $10-45, and kids 12 and under get in free. It’s an all day event from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
