Austin-based Torchy’s Tacos has announced its official opening date for a new location in Fayetteville.

The new restaurant, located at 1541 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., will host a grand opening party from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5 with free tacos, green chile queso, beverages and giveaways. The event is open to the public.

For those who can’t make it to the grand opening party, the restaurant will officially open for business on Wednesday, Aug. 7. The company will give away free tacos for a year to one raffle winner on opening day.

“The Fayetteville market has been on our development radar for some time and we are very excited to bring our Damn Good Tacos to Arkansas,” said G.J. Hart, the company’s CEO.

It will be the first Torchy’s in Arkansas, and the 65th in the U.S. for the chain. A Rogers location is planned for late 2019.

The Fayetteville restaurant will also be the first Torchy’s location to offer brunch from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Friday-Sunday. The plan is to add a full bar later this fall with draft beer, margaritas and other cocktails.

Founded in a food trailer in Austin, Texas in 2006, Torchy’s Tacos elevates the traditional street taco with unique flavor combinations that include responsibly-sourced, high quality ingredients from around the world.
