NWA driver license testing site moves from Springdale to Lowell

A popular driver license testing site has moved to a new location in Northwest Arkansas.

State officials this week opened a new testing office at 1120 West Monroe Ave. in Lowell. The new location replaces the center on Har-Ber Ave. in Springdale, which closed last week.

Sites in Prairie Grove, Eureka Springs and Huntsville will remain open.

Initially the new facility in Lowell will only administer the state’s written or skills driver test for conventional passenger cars, trucks and motorcycles.

Testing for commercial drivers licenses will be available at the new Lowell center on Monday, Aug. 26. The current CDL testing site on Ford Avenue in Springdale will close on Friday, Aug. 23.
