A longtime Dickson Street piano bar is scheduled to reopen this week with new owners and a new name.

The business, formerly known as Willy D’s Dueling Piano Bar, closed in late June. The new owners plan to reopen the venue on Friday, Aug. 30 as The Piano Bar.

“Willy D’s has held a special place in my heart as a performer,” said Matthew Neumayer, co-owner of OKP Entertainment, in a news release. “OKP Entertainment wants to make sure U of A students, Razorback fans and visitors from across the country have the opportunity to experience the joy and exuberance this place has brought so many.”

The owners said they timed the opening to coincide with the weekend of the first Arkansas football game. The Razorbacks take on Portland State on Saturday inside Razorback Stadium.

A soft opening will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, according to the release.
