Three of the most famous blue people in all of the world are coming to Fayetteville next week.

Of course we’re talking about the Blue Man Group, who will perform their brand new production Speechless at Walton Arts Center Sept. 12-19.

The group is actually developing their show here in town at the WAC as we speak, and the local performances will be the first look at the new show. This is Blue Man Group’s second national tour to launch from Walton Arts Center, as they also got ready for their 2010 tour at the WAC as well.

The Blue Men will be performing for the first time under director Jenny Koons, and the show will feature “new original compositions, invented instruments, and unexpected situations” to be seen by audiences for the first time next week.

“It’s Blue Man Group’s continued commitment to push boundaries, and think bigger and bolder with every new exploration, that excites me most about this opportunity, and I’m thrilled to join the Blue Man Group family to undertake this new show,” Koons said. “Speechless will feature material that fosters communal moments, debut the evolution of our tube-based instruments to support all new music, and include large-scale audience participation. It is my hope that this show will deliver on its name and continue Blue Man Group’s legacy to transcend words and inspire audiences through non-verbal connections.”

The show actually kicks off with two preview performances at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10-11, before officially beginning on Thursday, Sept. 12. From then, nine more performances are scheduled through Sept. 19 in Fayetteville.

Tickets range from $40-81 plus fees, and can be purchased in person at the Walton Arts Center Box Office, by calling 479-443-5600, or at waltonartscenter.org.

College students and young professionals can purchase a $30 ticket to the Tuesday, Sept. 10 performance as well as part of the WAC’s SEEK (Savor, Enrich, Explore and Know) program. For more info about that, visit waltonartscenter.org/seek.
