Handmade Moments, Arkansauce to play climate strike event Friday on the square

Fayetteville residents are expected to participate in an international climate strike event on Friday.

The event, set for 12-4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 on the Fayetteville square, will include a parade, live music, speakers, and other festivities to coincide with similar events taking place around the world this month.

The local event is being organized by the Omni Center for Peace, Justice, and Ecology, Young Democrats at the University of Arkansas, and local band Still on the Hill.

According to the Facebook event, organizers will kick off the event with a parade around the square beginning at noon.

The music schedule includes performances by local bluegrass band Arkansauce at 1 p.m., Dandelion Heart at 2 p.m., and Handmade Moments at 3:15 p.m.
