Calling all Parrotheads! If you love Jimmy Buffett, or if you just like a good party, then trust us when we say that we have a show for you. Set your mind on island time and take a trip to Margaritaville, where people go to get away from it all—and stay to find something they never expected. Written by Emmy Award® winner Greg Garcia (“My Name is Earl,” “Raising Hope”) and Emmy Award nominee Mike O’Malley (“Survivors Remorse,” “Shameless”), Escape to Margaritaville is a musical comedy featuring both original songs and all the Jimmy Buffett classics, including “Fins,” “Volcano,” “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and the title track. The Chicago Sun Times calls it, “The feel-good musical that finds the joy of living in the moment” and Entertainment Weekly raves, “It will knock your flip-flops off!” Don’t let the party start without you. Plan your “escape” today!
If we’ve learned anything from Jimmy Buffett, it’s that it’s always 5 o’clock somewhere. That’s why we’ve created a unique opportunity for Friday evening theatergoers to mix up your night out with a preshow cocktail class on Oct. 25! Led by the mixologists from Cannibal and Craft, you’ll learn how to make two delicious island-themed drinks, paired with light appetizers. Tickets to the “Margaritaville” cocktail class are sold separately. Must be 21+ to participate.
But wait, there’s more! Immediately following the Saturday matinee performance and prior to the Saturday evening performance, Walton Arts Center will host a Tropical Garden Party in partnership with the Northwest Arkansas Parrothead Club on Oct. 26. Benefitting Serve NWA’s New Beginnings, this island-inspired soiree begins at 4:30pm in Walton Arts Center’s Sudduth Garden Room and Bradberry Amphitheater. Join us for food & drinks, live music by Paul Tull & The Amazing Islanders and other tropical offerings! If you have a ticket to any performance of Escape to Margaritaville, the party is only $15.
Escape to Margaritaville comes to Walton Arts Center for eight performances Oct. 22-27. Tickets are on sale now! Buy yours today by clicking here. Fins up, NWA!
