Weekend Flyer: Native Gardens, Me Like Bees, Sad Palomino, and more

Friday, Oct. 11

Happy Friday, y’all.

There’s a cool show at Walton Arts Center on Friday night. Nobumtu, a five-piece all female a cappella group from Zimbabwe is playing at 8 p.m. at the venue. It’s a 10×10 Arts Series show, so there should be some inexpensive tickets up for grabs.

Just up the road, TheatreSquared’s new show Native Gardens is now playing at their new theatre on West Avenue. Also at TheatreSquared, NWA Ballet Theatre will perform Immortal Beloved: Possessed by Genius in the big theatre.

Music-wise, there’s a three band bill at George’s Friday night with local rockers Foggy Bobcat, Joplin-based band Me Like Bees, and JD Clayton. Show starts around 9:30 p.m.

You can also see local funk masters, 1 Oz. Jig at Smoke & Barrel.

There’s plenty more below. Click around down there for more info.
