The 2020 edition of the US Trail Running Conference will be held in Fayetteville, organizers announced earlier this week.

Historically held in either Colorado or California, it will be the first time the conference takes place in Arkansas.

The event will take place Oct. 21-24 with sessions at the Fayetteville Town Center and Graduate Fayetteville hotel.

The conference provides information to help race directors grow and develop successful trail races, and encourages trail runners by sharing tips to excel in the sport.

Informal trail runs will also be held throughout the week at the Mount Sequoyah and Kessler Mountain trail systems.

Experience Fayetteville, along with the city’s parks and recreation department, worked with organizers Active at Altitude to bring the conference to Fayetteville.

“We always look forward to hosting new events and conferences that have a positive economic impact on our city,” said Experience Fayetteville CEO Molly Rawn. “This conference is a great fit for Fayetteville, and we are eager to welcome attendees to one of the best places in the country for trail running.”

Registration opened Nov. 5.
