Weekend Flyer: Comedian Steve Rannazzisi, SoNA, Jamie Lou & The Hullaballoo, Torche, and more

Friday, Nov. 8

Steve Rannazzisi

George’s Majestic Lounge will kick off the weekend with a happy hour show, like they have done for I don’t even know how many decades. This week, locals Earl & Them and Mudhawk will do the honors. Later on, local 90s tribute The Mixtapes will perform at around 8:30 p.m.

How about some comedy? Comedian Steve Rannazzisi will perform in the Union Theatre on the UA campus at 7 p.m. You might know Steve from films such as “Paul Blart: Mall Cop” and “Imagine That,” or from his TV role as Kevin McArthur on comedy series “The League.” It’s a free show, but UA students get first-access.

There’s a burlesque show at West & Watson with The Celestial Sirens. That’ll go down at around 7 p.m.

There’s plenty more below.

It’s the second to last outdoor Fayetteville Farmers’ Market on the square this Saturday, so you better get down there and enjoy it while you can. Plus, with the leaves and everything, it’s gorgeous down there right now.

The symphony is back in town. SoNA will perform their new Masterworks show on Saturday night at Walton Arts Center. This one will feature Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. It’s a 7:30 p.m. show.

Nomad’s has been killing it with the rock shows lately. This week, they’ve got a four band bill with Little Rockers Living Sacrifice, locals Bones of the Earth, Revisionist, and Angel Flesh.

George’s also has a big show Saturday night with locals Opal Agafia, Jamie Lou & the Hullabaloo, and Brian Martin.

There’s plenty more below. Have fun, y’all.
