Weekend Flyer: Martha Redbone, The Play that Goes Wrong, The Cate Brothers, and more

Friday, Nov. 15

Martha Redbone

Roots musician Martha Redbone is in Fayetteville for a series of shows, workshops, and other appearances, including one that will take place at the Jim & Joyce Faulkner Performing Arts Center Concert Hall on Friday night. Redbone appeared at the Fayetteville Public Library on Thursday night, and is conducting workshops at the UA on Friday morning. In addition to her performance at the Faulkner Center on Friday night, she will also play the Walton Arts Center on Saturday night. Here’s ticket info to her Friday performance.

Longtime local songwriter Candy Lee recently recorded a new album, and she’ll celebrate the release with a performance on Friday night at the Guisinger Music House. Her new album, titled Ozark Mama, is a solo acoustic album of love songs to her husband and son. Locals Dandelion Heart will also perform.

There’s a big show at the Walton Arts Center on Friday night. It’s called The Play that Goes Wrong, and we’ve heard it’s hilarious. Reviewer Kevin Kinder called it “one of funniest, most riotous shows that’s ever been on the Walton Arts Center stage.”

Local theatre troupe the Smokehouse Players will perform the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Night, Mother this weekend at Ozark Mountain Smokehouse. Here’s more about that.

Nomads has an installment of their Southtown Comedy Night with comedians Garrett Smalley, Thom Gray, and Katie Still.

Also in music, Judason Void, Groaners, and Sad Palomino are at Backspace, Read Southall is at George’s, and Prismatics are in town for a show at Smoke & Barrel Tavern.
