Old Santa Claus himself is coming to Fayetteville this weekend. The jolly old elf will highlight the annual Lights of the Ozarks Parade and Lighting Ceremony, set for 6 p.m. on the Fayetteville Square. Here’s more info about that.

Also in holiday-related fun, TheatreSquared’s annual holiday show is underway at their new theatre this weekend. They’ve reimagined Dickens’ classic tale, A Christmas Carol for the stage. Here’s more.

Arkansas new head basketball coach Eric Musselman is 4-0 in his first season, and his team’s toughest test so far this season comes to Bud Walton Friday night. The Hogs take on South Dakota, and will try to slow down their top-ranked three point offense. Tipoff is at 8 p.m.

There’s a comedy show at Nomad’s with Meghan Welch. Here’s more about that.

Music-wise, George’s has country artist William Clark Green, and Smoke & Barrel also has a country show with Eureka Springs-based band, Chucky Waggs.

There’s more below.

Wanna race? Not me. But other people who like racing. There are a couple chances to do that on Saturday morning in Fayetteville. If you like to race on foot, your best bet is the annual Kessler Trail Run happening on Kessler Mountain Saturday morning. The event is organized by Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association, and raises funds to help the FNHA make good on their commitment to raise $300,000 to help offset the city’s cost to purchase the 328 acres known as the Kessler Mountain Reserve. There’s also a fun after party. More.

If you’d rather race on a bike, check out the new Raptor Gravel Grinder event, happening Saturday morning at Mount Sequoyah. We wrote about that earlier this week as well.

There’s a comedy show in town Saturday night. This time, local improv troupe Phunbags are back in action with a show at West & Watson.

Music-wise, local favorites Randall Shreve & The Devilles will perform at George’s Majestic Lounge Saturday night. Those guys know how to party.

There’s more below. Have some fun, buddies.
