FreshGrass music festival coming to The Momentary in 2020

A major music festival from Massachusetts is planning to host an event in NWA in 2020.

FreshGrass, a music festival held annual at MASS MoCA museum in North Adams, Massachusetts recently announced they will hold a second event at the new Momentary contemporary art space in Bentonville on April 24-25 this spring.

For those who aren’t familiar, The Momentary is a satellite facility to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art that opens to the public on Feb. 22, 2020.

The lineup for the upcoming Bentonville FreshGrass festival hasn’t been announced yet, but the Massachusetts event has drawn some big names over the years, including several that have performed at Fayetteville Roots Festival in Fayetteville in years past. Past headliners at Fresh Grass include Brandi Carlile, Alison Brown, Bela Fleck, Del McCoury, Mavis Staples, the Indigo Girls, Dwight Yoakam, Rhiannon Giddens, Jade Bird, and Ruthie Foster.

The event is organized by the Mass MoCA, and the Massachusetts version takes place in spaces both inside and outside the museum.

Early bird passes for the festival are on sale for $70 for adults and $25 for children. 2-day VIP passes are also available for $250.
