If your New Year’s resolution was to eat more delicious food in 2020, the folks from Mount Sequoyah Center just announced several ways to help with that.

The non-profit education and retreat center leadership today announced a series of twelve culinary events on the mountain, featuring food by executive chef Justus Moll paired with local brews and spirits by NWA breweries and mixologists.

The series kicks off with a Spirits Dinner on Jan. 31. The first event will include a five-course dinner by Moll, paired with craft cocktails by local mixologist, Charlie Rausch. In addition, spirits will be utilized in the cooking process, and both the chef and mixologist will be on hand to discuss the cocktails, the food and how they complement each other.

After that, a Valentine’s Dinner is planned on Feb. 14, followed by a Brewmaster Dinner with Ozark Beer Company on March 14, a Crawfish Boil featuring brews by Columbus House, a “dining in the dark” sensory event, and several others.

“Sharing a meal is a great way for people to meet, connect, and celebrate,” said Emily Gentry, Executive Director of Mount Sequoyah. “We want everyone to feel welcome to share what we have to offer at Mount Sequoyah, and I can’t think of a better way to do this than inviting people to share a meal with us.”

In addition to the culinary events, Mount Sequoyah will also be hosting a series of cooking classes taught by Moll, or Mount Sequoyah VP of Hospitality, Rebecca Liles. The classes will be open to the public with tickets, and group classes are available. Subjects include wine pairing, grilling, farm to table, fall classic dishes, and holiday classics.

Tickets to the classes and events range from $30-$125, and the first handful of events are on sale at mountsequoyah.org. Child tickets and family packages are also available for some of the events.
