‘You are Here’ by artist Aaron Bleidt
Fayetteville artist Aaron Bleidt will show new work in a new show coming to Arsaga’s at the Depot next month.
Bleidt will show his collection, titled ‘Artful Outsider: You Are Here’ at the venue during the month of February, with an opening reception scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6.
An avid collector of art over the years, Bleidt didn’t begin creating work himself until just over a year ago. Since creating his first painting in Dec. of 2018, however, he says he became obsessed with creating new work. He began posting his work on an anonymous Instagram page, and has since completed more than 150 works.
From his artist statement for the upcoming show:
Featuring the oft-random and at times totally bizarre creative musings of the recently minted “outsider” artist Aaron Bleidt. On display throughout the month of February, the freehand digital drawings and vibrant pigment ink prints explore a variety of surrealistic, escapist themes and random what-if scenarios, often laced with a touch of humor and sarcasm.
Arsaga’s at the Depot is located at 548 W Dickson St. The reception on Feb. 6 is free to attend and open to the public. The limited edition studio prints on display will be available for purchase. After the reception, the show will remain on display throughout the month of February.
