The Walton Arts Center will soon unveil its Mosaix Festival, a new annual event that explores the various cultural tiles that come together to make Northwest Arkansas unique and diverse.

Each year, a different culture will be highlighted with a weeklong celebration of that culture’s performers and performing arts. The inaugural event is set for April 20-25, and will explore the sights and sounds of India.

Events planned include performances from Punyah Dance Company, Bollywood Boulevard, jazz music from Arun Luthra and Selvaganesh, stand-up comedy by Raj Suresh, a conversation with Hasan Minhaj, and an all-day showcase of local arts and artists with performances, workshops, food, fashion and more.

In addition to the performances, there will also be an opportunity to learn Bharatanatyam, a form of Indian classical dance, from Punyah Dance Company. The pre-festival intermediate/advanced level dance workshop features 12 hours of instruction at a studio in Bentonville, and includes two tickets to Äbhä and the FuseNWA all-day showcase.

The project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts.
