Anna Burch coming to George’s Majestic Lounge on March 16

Due to the cancellation of SXSW, the leg of Burch’s tour that would have brought her to Fayetteville has also been canceled.

Detroit singer-songwriter Anna Burch will perform in Fayetteville on Monday, March 16 at George’s Majestic Lounge.

The show is part of local music promoter Roger Barrett’s ongoing ‘On The Map’ series, which has recently featured performances from groups like Heart Bones, Torche, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Laura Stevenson and more.

Burch released her solo debut Quit the Curse in early 2018, which Pitchfork contributor Nina Corcoran likened to a mix of alt-rock singles from the 1990s.

“Like Juliana Hatfield and Liz Phair, Burch has a knack for complex chord changes and personable delivery, the kind that tempts you to blast her music in the car as an inexpensive form of therapy,” Corcoran wrote.

Burch will follow that release with a new full-length titled If You’re Dreaming on April 3. For those who can’t wait, an EP was just released this morning (Feb. 11) with two tracks from the upcoming album, including “Not So Bad” (see video below).

Her upcoming North American tour starts in Cincinnati just two days before the Fayetteville stop, and runs through early May before heading overseas.

Tickets are $10, and are on sale now at stubs.net.
