A road resurfacing project will temporarily close driving lanes along Rolling Hills Drive at various times this month.

City crews will work to mill the road surface between College Avenue and Market Street from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13 and Friday, Feb. 14. An asphalt overlay will be placed on the roadway during the week of Feb. 18 when warmer temperatures are expected.

Alternating lane closures will take place during work hours. Drivers in the area should look for detour signs. Officials said crews will work to minimize traffic delays, but drivers should allow for extra travel time during the project.

From the city:

Oil will be sprayed on the roadway prior to the placement of asphalt overlays. If necessary, you may drive on the oil before the asphalt is placed. Please drive slowly and with care. Driving fast will throw oil on your vehicle and endanger the crew. If oil is thrown on your vehicle, it can be removed with WD-40 spray and paper towels.

Small piles of debris and asphalt that are left at the edge of the roadway will be removed at the end of the project, according to a news release.
