TheatreSquared will debut a new one-person show about a larger-than-Texas figure this week.

The new play, called simply Ann, tells the story of the colorful and complex former Texas Governor, Ann Richards, and opened this week at T2’s new Fayetteville facility.

The show is written by Emmy Award-winner Holland Taylor (Two and a Half Men), and stars Houston-based performer Sally Edmundson.

“Ann Richards would still be ahead of her time today,” said Robert Ford, Artistic Director. “The New York Times called the show, ‘fiery, funny, salty and brash’. They may as well have been describing Ann herself. No one led with quite as much charisma and sheer personality, and it makes for a compelling—and hilarious—night at the theatre.”

Performances are scheduled Feb. 19-March 29, with a 7:30 p.m. show nightly on Tuesdays-Fridays, two shows on Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and a matinee performance on Sundays at 2 p.m.

Several of the performances in the first two weeks of the show’s run are already sold out.

Tickets to the remaining shows are $17-$58, on sale now at theatre2.org.
