Washington-based singer-songwriter Damien Jurado recently announced plans for an upcoming tour that includes a stop at Clapp Auditorium on Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville on Thursday, May 21.

Folk-pop artist Shannon Lay is scheduled to open the show.

The performance is part of local music promoter Roger Barrett’s ongoing ‘On The Map’ series, which has recently featured groups like Om, Heart Bones, Torche, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Laura Stevenson and more.

Jurado’s upcoming What’s New, Tomboy? album is set for release in early May, and will be his third album in as many years. It follows 2019’s In the Shape of a Storm and 2018’s The Horizon Just Laughed.

The all-ages show is set for 9 p.m. (doors at 8 p.m.). Tickets go on sale Friday, March 6 (ticket link) and cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
