Fayetteville Public Library recently announced a new multilingual tutoring service for students that speak English as a second language.

The library has partnered with TLC Tutoring Co. to offer the service, with tutors fluent in Spanish, Marshallese, and Mandarin for students from first-twelfth grades.

The sessions are held on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and are free and open to the students, though registration is required.

The Tuesday sessions take place from 4:30-5:30 p.m. and from 6-7 p.m. The Saturday sessions are scheduled from noon-1 p.m., and from 1:30-2:30 p.m.

“As a library, we know we have a responsibility to give everyone in our community access to knowledge,” said David Johnson, executive director of the Fayetteville Public Library. “Offering a service that could make a difference in someone’s life, and especially in their success in school, is precisely what libraries are meant to do.”

The new service will be available every Tuesday and Saturday until May 26, 2020. Visit faylib.org/events for more information and to reserve a seat.
