Fayetteville Public Library has canceled all programming and events through March 30, library officials announced today.
The library will remain open, however, and will be taking extra precautions recommended by the CDC to help limit the spread of illness, including regularly disinfecting touchpoints and public spaces, and having hand-sanitizing stations and wipes available.
“The health and safety of our patrons is incredibly important to us,” said David Johnson, executive director of Fayetteville Public Library. “We respect the precautions that our city is taking to ensure everyone’s health, and we recommend that everyone take care of themselves, which will in turn protect our community.”
The cancellation is in accordance with guidelines recommended by Fayetteville mayor Lioneld Jordan Thursday.
Weekly story times will continue to be livestreamed according to the regular schedule, and they can be watched on the library’s Facebook page.
