TheatreSquared reschedules performances for remainder of season

TheatreSquared officials today announced that the company will adjust its performance schedule for the remainder of the season to help support efforts to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

Current performances of Ann will not go on as scheduled. Instead, the show will return for a special engagement Aug. 19 through Sept. 27.

Matilda: the Musical will now begin on June 3 and continue through June 28, while My Father’s War will run from June 17 through July 19. The Arkansas New Play Festival will return to its traditional summer schedule

“As a public trust, we will take any steps necessary to help support the health of our community,” said Martin Miller, T2’s executive director. “We are grateful that the flexibility provided by our new two-venue facility allows us to postpone, rather than cancel, our remaining performances for the season.”

All ticket holders will be provided with a comparable seat for the same production on rescheduled dates, and will be given full flexibility for subsequent exchanges to any alternate performance if requested. Ticket holders will be contacted directly by email and phone during the week of March 16 to confirm new dates.

All public spaces at TheatreSquared will remain open and the Commons Bar/Café will continue to operate with reduced hours closing at 8 p.m. each evening.

Miller said elevated disinfecting, sanitation and social distancing measures have all been implemented, and takeaway options, including grab & go items, are recommended in order to minimize contact while containment efforts continue.

Upcoming March and April education residencies in Arkansas schools; the NexT2 brunch on March 15; and April donor events including the Sustainers Dinner and Playwrights Breakfast are in the process of being rescheduled. Updates and new dates for these events will be posted to the company’s website at theatre2.org and communicated directly to patrons.

For ticketing assistance, contact the TheatreSquared box office at 479-777-7477 or visit theatre2.org.
