Fayetteville has closed all park amenities in an effort to encourage social distancing and slow the spread of COVID-19.
Mayor Lioneld Jordan on Tuesday issued the temporary closure of playgrounds, playing courts and fields, water fountains, gazebos and nearly every park restroom facility.
Fayetteville crews wrapped caution tape around playgrounds, and removed basketball hoops, volleyball nets and individual swings from the swing sets. Similar measures were taken in other cities across the region, including Bentonville and Rogers.
Fayetteville trails remain open, along with the restrooms at Walker Park.
