With public gatherings limited until who knows when, local musicians who depend on income they typically make while performing have been hard hit by COVID-19.

Now, some local folks are stepping up to help make sure they are at least fed.

Fayetteville Roots Festival officials this week announced ‘Meals for Musicians,’ a new program created in partnership with Tyson Foods, Ozark Beer Co., and the Pack Shack, designed to help provide a quick-cook meal for local musicians to pick up.

The meals will be available to pick up from 12-5 p.m. on Thursday, April 2 and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, April 3 at Roots HQ, located at 1 E. Mountain Street in Fayetteville.

Those who’d like to pitch in to help the cause can donate via Venmo @fayettevillerootsfestival, or by pitching in to pack meals via The Pack Shack NWA.
