The upcoming Square 2 Square bike ride has been canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The ride is part of a series of events organized by the Fayetteville and Bentonville parks departments designed to inspire locals to get active, and take advantage of the area’s parks and trails.
The biannual event includes a springtime ride from Fayetteville to Bentonville, and a fall ride in the opposite direction. This year’s spring event was previously planned for May 2. The fall ride is still scheduled for Sept. 19, 2020.
“It saddens our team to not be able to offer the full Square 2 Square experience we love, highlighting the Razorback Greenway from Fayetteville to Bentonville,” stated a message from the Fayetteville Parks Department on Friday.
Officials said those who have registered will be contacted with additional information regarding their registrations and shuttle reservations.
