The vacant AQ Chicken building on College Avenue will soon have a new tenant.

According to a post on their Facebook page Thursday, Grand Savings Bank planning to renovate the building, located at 1925 N. College, for their new Fayetteville Branch.

Chief Administrative officer Natalie Bartholomew told us on Thursday that the bank plans to utilize a portion of the building, and lease out the rest of the space.

The building was home to the Fayetteville location of longtime local restaurant AQ Chicken for a number of years before it closed in 2016. It was briefly set to become a steakhouse called The New American, but that project never came to fruition.

If all goes well, Grand Savings Bank plans to complete renovations and move into their space sometime in late 2020.
