Man killed in shooting in south Fayetteville

A man was killed in a shooting Wednesday on 22nd Street in south Fayetteville.

Police said officers were dispatched to the area for a report of a shooting at 2:53 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the man shot to death.

The man was later identified as 31-year-old Travis Bowlin, who was homeless and lived in a nearby wooded encampment.

One person was detained for questioning and later released, according to reports. The investigation is ongoing.
