Weekend Flyer: DJ Shortfuze, Vanimal Kingdom, Arkansauce, and Happy Mother’s Day

  • By Dustin Bartholomew · Friday, May 8, 2020

Arkansauce

It’s the weekend again. Seems like they’ve been coming every 5-7 days lately.

Of course, our calendar is still suspended for obvious reasons. There are still some things to do, however.

Smoke & Barrel will host a dance party on Saturday. Well, sort of. Local artist DJ Shortfuze will be performing live via their Facebook page, and you can dance like crazy in your living room. You can Venmo Tony-Gray-3 for the jams.

Deepwood Media will be livestreaming two shows this weekend, with Vanimal Kingdom on Friday night, and local bluegrass act Arkansauce on Saturday. We’ve seen a couple Arkansauce livestreams since all this began, and they do put on a killer show, even when you can’t be there in person. Both shows will be streamed live from Fossil Cove, and can be viewed on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch.TV. Both performances start at 8 p.m.

How about a cocktail? Maxine’s Tap Room has been selling cocktail kits, and you can make your own cocktail along with bartender Stephen Idlet on Friday night. Here’s more about that.

Experience Fayetteville is encouraging folks to camp out in their yards this weekend. Here’s more info about that.

You could let us know what restaurant you miss most from Fayetteville’s past. We are working on a list that we hope to publish sometime next week.

It’s the last chance to stop by and see the Crochetitville installation covering Maxine’s Tap Room if you haven’t checked that out yet. It is set to come down on Sunday.

Please feel free to let us know about any other local live streams you know about in the comments.

Oh, and don’t forget that Sunday is Mother’s Day. Love you Mom, and love you Brandy.

Otherwise, do whatever brings you some joy this weekend.
