Summer concerts and live music events around the region have been canceled left-and-right due to COVID-19, but music will go on at the library this summer…virtually.

Officials on Friday announced plans to host a series of concerts streamed live via the library’s website every Sunday in June.

The series, called Mountain Street Stage Summer Music Series, kicks off on Sunday, June 7 with a performance by local duo Smokey & The Mirror.

The series continues with Rachel B Table for Three on June 14, Fayetteville Jazz Collective Sextet on June 21, and Dandelion Heart on June 28.

The shows will take place from 2-4 p.m. each week.

“Both our patrons and staff look forward to the Mountain Street Stage summer concerts, so we are beyond pleased that we still have a way to make them happen,” said Heather Robideaux, adult services manager of Fayetteville Public Library. “While we would love to see our community enjoying a live performance, we know that this virtual format is what will best ensure the health and safety of everyone.”

The concerts will be streamed at livestream.com/faylib.
