The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host a blood drive in Fayetteville next week to try and make up for a current shortage of supply.

The drive is set for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30 at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, located at 20 E. Dickson Street.

Officials say that supplies are at critically low levels due to drive cancellations and lower donor turnout due to the pandemic.

From the Facebook event

Just in the Fayetteville area in 2019, CBCO provided more than 5,000 blood products to Fayetteville hospitals while only receiving 1,500 blood donations in the Fayetteville community, This means other communities had to step up and donate to help support hospital usage and patient needs.

Members of the Fayetteville community have come together to hold the Fayetteville Cares Blood Drive to help make sure local patients have access to the lifesaving blood products they need.

Blood center officials are requesting would-be attendees make an appointment online before the drive for the sake of efficiency. You many also call 417-227-5006.

Attendees will receive a CBCO t-shirt, a Slim Chickens gift card, a Harps gift card, and a $5 gift card to the blood center’s online store.

Masks are required for donors and staff.

For more info, check out the Facebook event.
