Botanical Garden of the Ozarks officials have reimagined a summertime tradition for the times we are currently living through.

With COVID-19 still spreading in Northwest Arkansas, and large gatherings like the garden’s annual Firefly Fling still not advisable, the BGO has taken some of the elements of the popular event and created a new event.

Instead of hosting a single event, this year’s summertime celebration – called Magical Evenings in the Garden – will take place over a week from July 12-18.

The new event will include several popular elements from the Firefly Fling event, including fairy house building, fairy wings and costumes, and small take-and-make activities for children.

To allow for proper social distancing, guest capacity will be limited. Face covering swill be required, and guests must maintain a minimum of six feet of distance from others, officials said.

Tickets to the event are $7 for adults, and $4 for kids for non members. Kids 4 and under get in free. Garden members may also get in free, but must reserve a dateand time in advance. The event will be open each evening from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
