A longtime local venue that has been closed for nearly four months is set to soon open for a simulcast event.

George’s Majestic Lounge officials this week announced plans to show a simulcast concert featuring bluegrass musician Billy Strings at the venue on Saturday, July 25.

The venue is one of just eight around the country chosen to host the live-stream viewing event.

Strings is considered a bluegrass prodigy and rising star in the scene, who was named among the Top 10 new artists to know by Rolling Stone in 2017. He has toured with Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, Leftover Salmon, and I’m With Her, among others.

Strings perform two sets from a crowd-less venue in Nashville.

A limited number of attendees will be allowed into George’s for the simulcast event, and face masks will be required.

Tickets to the event are $9.99, and proceeds will benefit the venue and staff at George’s Majestic Lounge.
