People are invited to create chalk art in Wilson Park from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 during the “Chalk the Park” event honoring healthcare workers.

Chalk artists of all ages can help decorate the Wilson Park Trail with artwork, quotes or messages to show appreciation for healthcare workers who have been on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19 during the pandemic.

From a news release:

Feel free to shout out to your favorite healthcare worker or simply create your best chalk art along the themes of celebration, thanks, and hope. Additional information is available at the event listing on Fayetteville Parks and Recreation’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FayettevilleParksAndRecreation.

City parks staff will provide water and two colors of sidewalk chalk (while supplies last) at tents near the tennis courts and near the swing set. People can also bring their own chalk.

Face masks will be required to pick up chalk or water, and social distancing of at least six feet is required throughout the park.
