The Walmart AMP recently unveiled a series of facility upgrades, and though the venue isn’t ready for large scale concerts just yet, locals can check out the new digs during a series of happy hour shows featuring local musicians kicking off this week.

Venue officials last week announced the series of performances, set to kick off on Friday, Sept. 11 with regional act, The Mixtapes.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., cocktails and a full food menu will be available for cashless purchase, and cornhole sets will be set up on the venue grounds.

The full schedule for the happy hour series is below.

“These are really popular bands who are performing for a discounted fee in order to support Walton Arts Center’s Ghost Light Recovery Fund,” said Brian Crowne, VP of the Walmart AMP. “It gives them a fun gig to play, patrons a safe night out, allows us to showcase the expanded facility and it all supports the relief fund for Walton Arts Center.”

Admission is free, and a limited number of tables can be reserved in advance for $25. 100% of all table reservations will be donated to support Walton Arts Center’s Ghost Light Recovery Fund and are tax deductible and nonrefundable. The Ghost Light Recovery Fund helps Walton Arts Center offset lost revenue from canceled performances, continue education and intermission programming, maintain facilities and support staff until full-scale performances can resume.

Face coverings will be required when entering and moving about the venue, social distancing measures will be enforced. For more on the safety protocals for the venue, or to reserve a table, call 479-443-5600, or visit amptickets.com.
