Case update: Arkansas confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases increase by 1,106

The number of confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases in Arkansas increased by 1,106 on Thursday.

Of those, 883 are considered confirmed cases from PCR testing, and 223 are considered probable after detection by antigen tests.

There were eight additional deaths, bringing the toll to 1,166.

Hospitalizations were up by two to 389, and the number of Arkansans on ventilators increased by seven to 72.

There are currently 6,100 total cases of COVID-19 considered active in the state, which includes those that have tested positive by both PCR and antigen testing methods. There are 64,145 inactive cases.

Officials announced 7,910 new PCR tests on Thursday, along with 1,746 antigen tests.

The top counties for new cases on Thursday were Pulaski (67), Sebastian (60), Washington (54), Benton (34), Craighead (32) and Jefferson (32).
