UPDATE: This event has been canceled. Here’s a statement from the organizers:

The Summer Pump Track Classic set for Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Runway Bike Park in Springdale is cancelled.

The children’s bicycling competition held on the campus of The Jones Center was cancelled due to lower-than-hoped registration for the rescheduled event.

The event is typically held each June or July when area youth who want to participate are out of school for the summer, but it was postponed until this month to ensure it would be held with all safety and social distancing protocols in place. Unfortunately, it appears the mid-September date wasn’t ideal for participants under current circumstances.

The Jones Center looks forward to announcing events later this year for families and the community to enjoy at the Runway Bike Park.

The Jones Center will host the annual Summer Pump Track Classic for kids ages 3-15 years old on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Runway Bike Park in Springdale.

The races include seven age-based categories, with separate awards for all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
