Walton Arts Center’s annual beer and technology festival at the Walmart AMP is going virtual in 2020.

AMP Fest, the event which serves as a fund raiser for Walton Arts Center’s educational outreach programming in NWA, is hosting a ‘to-go’ event this year the weekend of Oct. 24-25, 2020.

Instead of gathering at the Walmart AMP for an evening of music, local beer, and technology demonstrations, this year’s event will include a drive-through pick up of merchandise and a brewery scavenger hunt, and a live broadcast over Zoom from the new Walmart AMP Choctaw Plaza, and more.

Participants can pick up packets from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23 at the Walmart AMP, including a six-pack holder, sampling cups, a swag bag, and instructions.

On Saturday, the brewery scavenger hunt begins at noon. Participants will get riddles and clues via a special AMP Fest app that will lead them to each brewery where they can pick up beverages for the virtual event. You can also opt out of the scavenger hunt when purchasing your tickets, and just pick up your full six pack from noon-2 p.m. at Bike Rack Brewing in Bentonville.

On Sunday, Oct. 25 from 4-5 p.m. the Zoom broadcast will take place, featuring a tech talk, master brewers discussing their local beers, and a performance by local band, The Juice.

Tickets to participate in the “to-go” event are $40, with the option to add $5 and receive a pint glass, guitar pick, and t-shirt. You must be 21 or older to participate.

Participating breweries include Bike Rack Brewing Co., Hawk Moth Brewery & Beer Parlor, Bentonville Brewing, Black Apple Hard Cider and Fossil Cove Brewing Co.

Masks are required for picking up packets and brews during the scavenger hunt.
